![]() *LET THE ELECTION FRAUD BEGIN!! -West Virginia -California -All across the country *OUR LATEST ONLY IN L.A. MOMENT.. We went to a Pumpkin Patch in Beverly Hills last weekend, hoping to amuse the boy. When we rolled up , there were paparazzi all splayed out, shooting like crazy. We got in and found some pumpkins, and then a little girl came up to our baby carriage to say hello to the Fetus formerly known as Lil Gravy. I said "You touch him, you buy him.." Turns out it was Tobey Maguire's kid. The red-head from Desperate Housewives and Tori Spelling (yikes!!) were there with their brats, too. Look for us in the latest issue of In Touch. *EXTRA!! EXTRA!! I'll be the Artist-in-Residence at the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco on Saturday Nov. 17th from 1-3pm. I'll be signing copies of the new 2008 Little Vics/Mega-Mix Monthly Calendar and latest (th)ink collection. I'll also be dropping some SERIOUS, SERIOUS NEWS on anybody who shows up at the signing. The biggest K Chronicles news ever!! The museum is located at 655 Mission St. in downtown San Francisco. Around the corner from MOCCA. I'll also be hanging out with the crew of 826Valencia as a representative of 826LA, which has a new storefront opening up in Echo Park on Sat. DEc. 15th. *HOB-NOBBIN' WITH THE STARS.. I went to my second "only-in-Los Angeles" star-studded event since moving down here. It was this great dinner event for the Children Defense Fund. The dinner celebrated these 5 young women that have gone through shite that would've broke 99% of the rest of us in the room. I saw even the most botoxed faces break down in tears listening to their stories. Anyhoo, I got all decked out and took the bus to the Beverly Hills Hotel where I chowed down in the same room as Reese Witherspoon, J.J. Abrams and the lady who played Malcolm in the Middle's mom. I got introduced to upstanding citizen Cameron Crowe and panicked halfway through telling him what a great film "Almost Famous" was. For a second I thought "What if he didn't do that film?" so I got all weird and vague..But I'll see his ass again and set it straight. I also got to meet Lisa Kudrow. Very nice lady, indeed. Then, in the scrum outside the hotel of incredibly rich people waiting for valets to bring their autos around, a man said "Wheelchair coming through!!" And lo and behold, Larry Flynt, publisher of children's mag Hustler, came rolling through more blinged out than I've ever seen any rapper. Turns out it was his birthday and they were having a party in one of the other function rooms. Talk about balance. Shout out to Sally W. for the invite!! *TYPO OF THE WEEK.. I spelled "complacency" wrong in the K Chronicles this week. I sent out a corrected version, but it was too late in some places. Whoops. *THE UNBEARABLE HOTNESS OF L.A... Ugh..What a nightmare. I can't describe how horrible the weather's been down here. It's makes me pine for the ol' fog and coldness that is San Francisco. The worst thing about it is my in-laws are staying with us (for 3 weeks!!), which ain't bad in itself. But all four of us in a one bedroom apartment at 105 degrees with a crappy air conditioner is ugly. We're still having fun despite the scorchiness. Shout out to the young lady who recognized me at the City of Culver's Farmer's Market today. She overheard me introducing my in-laws to the German hippie who sells the world's greatest organic heirloom tomatoes, and thought she'd ask if my name was Keith. Cool, huh? *ABOUT THIS WEEK'S STRIP.. It was prompted by the google alerts that I get about Keith Knight. I suddenly started getting all these "Keith Knight is dead" alerts and started wondering if all the other Keith Knights in the world were at least slightly affected by one of our brethren passing. *CHECK OUT THE NEWEST ISSUE OF THE COMICS JOURNAL.. Not sure what number it is, but it should be hitting newsracks now. I'm interviewed by one of the nicest people in comics, Andrew Farago of the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. By the way, are you going to the Cartoon Art Museum's Pixar fundraiser? *BOSTON WRAP-UP.. Boston was quite spectacular because the Wifey and I were meeting up with her parents (who were flying in from the Black Forest of Germany, then flying back to L.A. with us!!), and staying at my Mom's house. This was the first time my Mom was meetin' the in-laws, so it was gonna be interesting. Kerstin's parents know little English, and my Mom knows no German at all. But that didn't stop her from yappin' like they understood what she was saying. : ) It was great. Kerstin's dad was showing everybody yoga moves and standing on his head at 6am. Then we took the in-laws up the coast where they tried lobster for the first time. We went by my world-renowned great Uncle Owen's place where Kerstin's dad drank too much B&B, and ended up singing drunken German songs for the rest of the afternoon. And we all hit the tennis courts with my little sister's family for some serious tennis spielen. A wonderful time was had by all. I love it when a family comes together...(although a few were conspicuously missing). *BOOKSIGNING WRAP-UP... Thanks to everybody who came by my signing at Million Year Picnic. It wasn't the busiest signing I've had there (it being a Saturday morning on one of the last weekends of the summer), but it was fun nonetheless. Had a coupla family members stop by including Cartoonist with Attitude cohort Brian McFadden. I was sorta out of it anyway because of the party I had the night before. Y'see, it twas my birthday (41!) and my Ma threw a little BBQ for me that turned into a bit of a shindig. Many friends from childhood, high school, college and my old band came by with all their little kidlings. We ate and drank and eventually ended up at the Hong Kong Lounge in Harvard Square, where we finished off more than a few Scorpion Bowls. (We left the children at home..or was it at the bar?) Anyhoo..Thanks to Tony at M.Y.P., Brianna and Chris, Brian for comin' by.. *APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE WHO'S K CHRONICLES.COM ORDERS HAVE BEEN SLIGHTLY DELAYED.. I'm back and they will be filled. *DOES ANYBODY HAVE A TICKET TO SEE STEVIE WONDER AT THE GREEK OR IN SAN FRANCISCO? PLEASE EMAIL ME: keef@kchronicles.com Ciao!! *LAST CALL!! WE NEED MORE $$$ TO CHEAT!! Dear peers, colleagues, co-workers, friends & family, For those who don't know, I am playing this weekend in a miniature golf tournament to raise money for the non-profit organization 826LA (http://www.826la.org). The catch: the more money we raise, the more we get to cheat!!! And since we're not all that good, we'll need all the cheating power money can buy. We only have a few more hours (it ends this Friday) to raise money and we just lost our lead today! This is our last attempt and you are part of our secret wild card group - to help us win back the lead and raise more money for the kids. 826LA is an amazing organization that helps kids develop and nurture their creative writing skills and offer classes that range from computers to storytelling, bookbinding and much, much more - and all for free, so that every family can afford it. So don't be shy, do something good - it's for a really good cause! Here is the info: support Team: Dimpled Balls teamleader Keith Knight.
