However I am pretty sure Iggy and the Stooges were blazing a few punk trails in the late 60’s, a few years ahead of Death. I wonder if they knew of each other.
Also, unlike many of his peers, James Osterberg is still flogging that punk horse.

Bad Brains were WAY ahead of the curve, too, in the second coming of punk rock; musical superiors to all their contemporaries, was a shame that they couldn’t hold things together, because they rocked much harder than Black Flag ever did on their best day.
Saw this at the Brattle tonight with a Q&A after by one of the directors. Between this, Twenty Feet From Stardom and Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me, it’s a killer summer for music documentaries!
