I got lazy and took a week off from posting. But I’m back and ready to type!!

*STUFF I FORGOT TO POST ABOUT…
You know yer getting old when pop-culture people who were part of yer childhood start dying.

Just a short list:
Levi Stubbs, Paul Benedict, Dolemite, Eartha Kitt, Isaac Hayes, Bernie Mac, George Carlin, Pervis Jackson, Sidney Pollock, Bo Didley, Jerry Reed and Heath Ledger.

And of course there was Albert Hoffman, the inventor of LSD. Here’s what he wrote after dosing:

“It happened on a May morning — I have forgotten the year — but I can still point to the exact spot where it occurred, on a forest path on Martinsberg above Baden,” he wrote in “LSD: My Problem Child.” “As I strolled through the freshly greened woods filled with bird song and lit up by the morning sun, all at once everything appeared in an uncommonly clear light.

“It shone with the most beautiful radiance, speaking to the heart, as though it wanted to encompass me in its majesty. I was filled with an indescribable sensation of joy, oneness and blissful security.”

Don’t do drugs.

And then there was Bettie Page, who was buried in a cemetery close by here in West L.A. She never wanted to be photographed after she retired from modelling, because she wanted folks to remember her as she was, but she hadn’t changed much if this recent photo is any indication. Beautiful til the end.

*SPEAKING OF DEAD CELEBRITIES..
