*GEEZ, LOUISE…
I did this big, long post earlier this week, and it didn’t load!! It was a spectacular missive that not only hyped up
the 2006 Life’s Little Victories Calendars that I have for sale, and the professional cartooning class that I’m teaching this saturday at the Cartoon Art Museum, but also outlined a competent and detailed exit strategy for our troops in Iraq.

Ahh, but i digress…

I’m super excited about the opening of the MOAD in San Francisco this Saturday. The Museum of the African Diaspora is right down the street from the Cartoon Art Museum, so I’m gonna slip in there before my class.

Also this week is the ten year anniversary of the online mag Salon.com!! Salon was started ten years ago by my editor at the San Francisco Examiner, David Talbot. I remember him asking me if I’d like to submit to this new online publication he was starting up…

The dotcom boom…those were the days!! Salon paid big bucks back then to run “the K Chronicles”. I remember going to one of their holiday parties at the height of it all, and there was this amazing spread that included all-u-can-eat sushi and tons of other stuff. I just remember saying to myself: “You always wondered how much unagi you could eat, so let’s see..”

I also remember drunkenly chatting with the former president of CBS television. Ha!! It was good stuff.

Then it all came crashing down. The web parties. The big money. The dotcom boom.

But that’s what’s so cool about Salon. They’re still here. For years everyone’s been telling me how Salon is on its deathbed and that I should cash my checks as soon as possible. Guess what? Still rolling on..Long after Webvan Long after pets.com.

Congrats.

Okay..It’s time for the Creator’s Meeting at the C.A.M. ..

Cheers,

Keef
