*EMAILS OF THE WEEK..

Keith,

Just wanted to tell you that my wife and I love your comics. They are very funny and close to home every week. She emigrated from Poland in the ’80s, and I’m a typical American dude, who likes to draw and eat and all that good stuff. We find your jokes about your relationship with your wife the funniest, as they seem to be right on target with what’s going on in our life (only been married a year and live in the other coast, your old town Boston!).

Anyway, she sent me an email about a family friend who passed away, and the title of the email was “ORBITUARY”. I just thought it was funny that she still has trouble with the English language occasionally, but usually it makes a new word or a funnier word than the intended one. It’s almost like Orbitz bought out an obituary service and created a new travel company that offers discounts on dead people’s plane tickets.

She also was under the impression for years that cobweb was spelled “cow-web,” and never could understand the complexities of the English language and how a spider was supposed to catch a cow.

Feel free to take either of these ideas as your own. Keep up the great work!

A.H.
