*EMAILS OF THE WEEK..

Dear Mr. Knight:

I cut out your comix that talked about the cheap ass tent. I can’t believe just a few weeks before, I too bought a tent (from Big Lots) intending to eventually use it with some friends on a camping trip. I kept thinking, “Are Coleman tents this flimsy? Hell, probably so. Everything’s made in China.” Anyway, I also put it up first in my living room. So, your strip really slapped me upside my head. It was great. And keep up the good work with your strip and your marriage.

I just got my order from you today. I was excited right off the bat when I saw that the address was in YOUR hand. I thought, “wow, kinda like an autograph, I’ll have to save the envelope”. ( I also thought how there were some perks to the fans that cartooning doesn’t necessarily make you rich :-) )

Imagine, then, my delight when I started to read the books and found that they were signed! WOW! YAY! THANKS!

I’ve been a fan since I first saw you in Salon several years ago.

I really dig (old hippy, don’t hate me) your drawing style and I think your humor is a great combination of edgy and gentle. Gentle edginess? Edgy gentleness? Whatever. I love it. It’s too damn bad that dailies are afraid of you. At least half the country (the blue part) would completely enjoy you and a fair portion of the rest (those #%@!# reds :-) ) would too. Maybe someday.

BTW, Sharpies rule!

Thanks again and keep it up. I tell people about you every chance I get.
